Marami sa mga kabataang Pilipino ang dumadanas ng pagkagutom at kakulangan sa pagkaing kailangan para sa kanilang mabuting kalusugan dahil sa kahirapan ng buhay at iba pang kadahilanan. Isa sa mga resulta nito ay ang pagiging malnourishment na maaring magdulot sa mga bata ng pagka bansot, pinsala sa utak, hindi magandang pag-ganap sa eskwelahan, at maging sa kanilang komunidad sa hinaharap. Ang Hapag-Asa ay isang programa na naglalayon na sugpuin ang pagkagutom at malnutrisyon ng kabataang Pilipino. Sinusuportahan ito ng Pondo ng Pinoy mula 2005. Sa pamamagitan ng FAST2FEED Campaign na isinasagawa tuwing Lent Season o panahon ng kwaresma, ay maari tayong makapag bigay ng tulong upang matulungan ang mga kabataan na dumadanas ng pagkagutom at malnutrisyon. Upang makatulong, ang 15 pesos kung iyong iipunin sa loob ng 120 araw at ibabahagi sa Pondo ng Pinoy, ay maari ng makatulong upang mabigyan ng mainit at may sapat na nutrisyon na pagkain ang isang batang nagugutom sa loob ng anim na buwan. At dahil sa iyong tulong ay maaring makakamit ng isang bata ang hustong nutrisyon na kailangan ng kanyang katawan at utak na makakatulong sa kanilang pag-ganap sa hinaharap.Anuman ang halaga ang iyong maipon ay maaring ibahagi sa Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation, Inc. Pondo ng Pinoy Board of Trustees Meeting 2023
To continue the Pondo ng Pinoy mission to contribute to uplifting the welfare of the poor communities through its programs and services, the Board of Trustees conducted a meeting last 20 January 2023 at the Pondo ng Pinoy National Management Office. Members of the Board are committed to its role of providing holistic direction towards enabling local churches to bring lasting transformation to communities in which we work. This 2023, we are looking forward to a more revitalized Pondo ng Pinoy that is rooted in its spiritual foundation but appropriately responding to the challenges in the current context of our society. This meeting was presided by His Eminence JosΓ© F. Cardinal Advincula, Jr., D.D., Pondo ng Pinoy Chairperson, and participated by Most Rev. Marcelino Antonio M. Pondo ng Pinoy Funded Project: Diocese of Ilagan Project: Educational Assistance for Pondo ng Pinoy Scholars
Pondo ng Pinoy’s heart is where the marginalized communities are; this is why through a scholarship program, PnP continuously supports the education of Indigenous People who are interested in studying. This Fiscal Year 2021-2022, the Diocesan Social Action Center of Ilagan implemented the Educational Assistance for Pondo ng Pinoy Scholars Program. Currently, it has benefited 30 IP students from different parishes within the Diocese of Ilagan. Remarkably, this initiative has significantly impacted the lives of young people by helping them acquire their diplomas, which will equip them to winning the future. Furthermore, it encouraged the beneficiaries’ parents to practice good stewardship by sharing something through Balik-Handog. Pondo ng Pinoy Funded Project: Prelature of InfantaProject: Constructions of Girl’s Dormitory (Sentrong Paaralan ng mga Agta)
Geographical and economic challenges in the education sector are still very apparent in the country, especially in rural areas and indigenous people (IP) communities. Children need to walk several kilometers coming to school and going back home because some cannot afford transportation expenses, while others have no choice but to walk because of the lack of infrastructure and unfavorable terrain or location of their homes, far away from school Among the communities suffering from these are the children of the Agta tribe in the country. To address this, the Prelature of Infanta requested funding support from Pondo ng Pinoy, Inc., to construct a dormitory worth β±461,000.00. On August 16, 2022, the blessing of the construction of the dormitory for girls was conducted and participated by Most Rev. Bernardino Cortez, Bishop of the Prelature of Infanta. Pondo ng Pinoy Funded Project: Archdiocese of Manila Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) of Caritas Manila, Inc.
It is indeed that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Thus, providing them an avenue and opportunities to impart skills and develop servant leadership values as they grow up are essential. To invest in the future of the young people, Caritas Manila Inc, in partnership with the Parish Social Services and Development Ministry, launched the “Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program,” or YSLEP. This 15-month program has integrated a holistic approach toward its three major components: Servant Leadership Formation, Leadership Engagement in families and communities, and Academic Excellence. Ang Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation Inc., sa pagagamitan ng Diyosesis ng Gumaca, ay nakapagbahagi ng tulong sa mga mahihirap na pamilya na naapektuhan ng sunog sa Buenavista, Quezon. Tinatayang 100 na indibidwal ang naapektuhan sa nasabing sunog. Bilang tugon sa ating mga kababayan at Ka-Pondo, ang Pondo ng Pinoy sa pamamagitan ng Diyosesis ng Gumaca, ay nagbahagi ng mga pangunahing pangangailangan ng bawat pamilya at indibidwal na nasunugan. Poverty Alleviation and Enhancing Livelihood for Persons with DisabilityWith the passion to empower the vulnerable, the Camarines Norte Persons with Disability Association from the Diocese of Daet facilitated a project promoting micro-enterprise development by providing access and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs). The project fund provided by Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation, Inc., the said association was able to assist 15 PWD stakeholders from various municipalities of Camarines Norte. The project was launched in April 2021 in collaboration with Camarines Norte Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO) and Camarines Norte State College – College of Business and Public Administration, and Cooperative Development Authority. Inspired by the mission of Christ to give importance to the marginalized, the Diocese of Daet has been continuously empowering PWD stakeholders initiated through this project, by enabling them to have a greater sense of worth and control over their situations and affect change to the conditions that they have. The Diocese of Urdaneta conducted an orientation session of Pondo ng Pinoy at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Parish, San Jose, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan last November 27, 2022, it was facilitated by Bro.
