Home - Blog Detail

Pasig City, September 23, 2019. Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundationโ€™s (PnPCFI) Hapag-Asa Program, in partnership with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), Risen Saviour Missions (RSM), Diocese of Pasig and Pasig Catholic College (PCC) is launching the Joined Hands Global Pack in the Philippines on October 17, 2019 at the Tahanan ng Mabuting Pastol, C. Raymundo Avenue, Caniogan, Pasig City.

The Joined Hands Global Pack is a food packing event featuring volunteers packing locally produced rice in the MannaPack Fortified Rice and Soy Protein Meal, intended for the Supplemental Feeding of undernourished children. The event aims to generate awareness on the Hapag-Asa Program as a Catholic Church response to the problem of malnutrition and also help our local farmers by buying their produce directly from their cooperatives. About 300 volunteers composed of faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff of PCC will take turn in two-hour shift, packing the rice into the food packs.

The Hapag-Asa Integrated Nutrition Program has been helping undernourished Filipino Children since 2005 through provision of Supplemental Feeding and Education and Livelihood activities for their parents implemented by various partners including Churches, LGUs, Schools and LGUs. Over the years, the program has already helped feed nearly 2Million undernourished children and underweight pregnant and lactating mothers (more than 200 thousand of which are fed by Pondo ng Pinoy-member Dioceses) and has been witness to heartwarming stories of restored hopes in the lives of these children. Eradicating malnutrition especially stunting among children still has a long way to go. With only just few hours of your time and your own two hands, childrenโ€™s hunger can be turned into hope. You can still do your share, VOLUNTEER, DONATE and FEED A HUNGRY CHIILD. For more information about this event and about the program, you may contact the Hapag-Asa Secretariat at telephone numbers: (02)6321001 to 03 or through hapagasa@gmail.com.
