Diocesan members of Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation, Inc. (PnPCFI) gathered and shared ideas on how to improve their knowledge and skills to provide more services for the poorest of the poor and how to unlock the fullness of life. The biannual coordinators’ meeting was held at Pope Pius XII Catholic Center, Paco, Manila on November 25-26, 2019 with the theme “Pondo ng Pinoy: 15 Years of Engaging the Filipino in Caring for the Poor” in line with the celebration of its 15 years of giving assistance for those in need. The two-day event was attended by fifty (50) participants from different Pondo ng Pinoy Diocesan members such as Diocese of Alaminos, Antipolo, Boac, Calbayog, Cubao, Daet, Gumaca, Iba, Ilagan, Imus, Libmanan, Lucena, Archdiocese of Manila, Malolos, Malaybalay, Military Ordinariate, Naval, Nueva Segovia, Ozamis, Palo, Pasig and Puerto Princessa. The activity highlights the “World Café Workshop” in an appreciative inquiry approach held in day one. This aimed to conduct a situational analysis in a Diocesan context; improve support, coordination and partnerships; and to elicit good practices and impact as spring board for succeeding engagement. The participants had to share their expertise and experiences from their respective areas. They also gave their feedbacks and suggestions on how to be more effective in serving the people through crumbs collection. Program Proper The main event hosted by the National Management Office (NMO) Ms. Monalissa Borre, Pondo ng Pinoy Finance/Accounting Staff and Ms. Carmela Nequinto Program Assistant for Projects. On the first day of the event, coordinators were assigned to register for kitting and ID’s following by the preliminary activities. Diocesan coordinator of San Pablo and Pondo ng Pinoy Board of Trustees (BoT) member, Ms. Maria Ava Cathlleya Estino gave her opening remarks followed by a talk by Rev. Fr. Noel Canopio, Diocesan’s Social Action Coordinator of the Diocese of San Pablo and Pondo ng Pinoy Priest Coordinator for the topic “Theology of the Crumbs: Embodying New Evangelization Towards Fullness of Life”. Each officer from the Programs Unit had ten-minute presentations for the updates and plans of the NMO. Ms. Maria Victoria Abear-Marzan for the Education Sub-Unit, Ms. Joanne Chua for the Projects Sub-Unit and Ms. Yen Ocampo for the Promotions Sub-Unit. Day one was ended with a solidarity night. The second day started by a Eucharistic celebration led by Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo, D.D. followed by the highlights of workshop results, synthesis, action plans and policy recommendations led by Ms. Morena Cosare, PnPCFI Executive Director.
