On September 8, the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia celebrated not only its 41st anniversary but also 15 years of journeying with Pondo ng Pinoy, embodying the theme “Share the Love, Share the Hope.” The event, held at the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker in San Jose, Sta. Cruz, was a testament to the spirit of giving that has long been nurtured within the diocese.

During his homily, Rev. Fr. Danilo S. Martinez, Social Action Director of the Archdiocese, highlighted the profound power of charity, using Pondo ng Pinoy as a prime example of how even the smallest acts of kindness, symbolized by “crumbs,” can collectively bring about lasting change. He shared how these small contributions enable the diocese to extend help, such as supporting children’s education and uplifting families in need. This resonates deeply with the mission of Pondo ng Pinoy: to encourage everyone, regardless of their financial means, to participate in building a better future through the simplicity of daily generosity.

The Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia has been steadfast in promoting this mission, rallying its parishes and communities to embrace the spirit of giving, sharing, and hope, while most of all, spreading the mission of Pondo ng Pinoy. Through their efforts, countless lives have been touched and transformed.

As part of the event, the celebration concluded with a simple merienda and the distribution of food packages to nearly 50 senior citizens, each receiving a 10kg bag of rice. This gesture, though modest, mirrors the heart of Pondo ng Pinoyโ€™s mission: small, consistent acts of love, when shared by many, become powerful enough to create ripples of hope in the community.

The journey of Caritas Nueva Segovia in spreading the mission of Pondo ng Pinoy stands as an inspiring example of the Church’s role in fostering solidarity and compassion, reminding us that we are all called to share, no matter how small, for the greater good.
